Group prayer on Thursday nights has stopped for now, but let's not stop praying!

"Encountering God in the Moment" 

 This week, as we seek to encounter God in the here and now ……  MEET GOD in the Mess

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 

In the middle of our mess, our anger, frustration, disappointment, pain, and impossibilities, God says COME! Come as we are; broken, weary, and without hope. 

Like David in the Psalms, God wants us to be real with him, and pour out our hearts. “God, I’m angry! I didn’t sign up for this! I’m done! … Help me.”  If we wait until we’ve fixed and prettied up and improved our present situation,  we’ve fallen out of grace …. again.  And God, with loving arms open, says, “Come to me. Pour it all out.” 

As we do,  He meets us. Something happens, even though it can’t always be explained. He gives strength, refreshes, lifts the heaviness, and shows the way forward, in the middle of the pigpen. Jesus, we come, just as we are.
